Dr. Steven T. Reed

Dr. Reed received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry in 1991 from the University of Southern Mississippi, where he graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors. In 1995, he received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors. Additionally, he earned a minor in math, biology and physics. Academic honors include Outstanding Pre-medical Student, Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Fraternity, Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Med Honorary Society, Phi Kappa Phi Academic Honor Fraternity, Outstanding Clinician, and Who’s Who Among Students in America’s Colleges and Universities. Dr. Reed opened a private practice, Family Vision Clinic, in Magee, Mississippi in August, 1996. The practice has since grown to include his brother, Dr. Michael Reed and Dr. Alvaro Moreno. Family Vision Clinic focuses on primary care optometry, treatment and management of ocular disease, pre and post-operative surgical care and sports vision therapy. The practice is also a proud member of Vision Source, a national network of private practices dedicated to providing higher quality eyecare. Dr. Reed has been a leader in his community and his profession. He is Past President of the Magee Chamber of Commerce, the Magee Lion’s Club, the Mississippi Optometric Association and the Southwest Optometric Society. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association, serving as Mississippi’s National Keyperson Coordinator in Advocacy and a delegate to the AOA Congress. In addition, he serves on the Board of Trustees at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. He has also been chosen as a trustee for SECO, Southeastern Council of Optometry, representing Mississippi among twelve states. In 2009, he was chosen as a finalist for Optometrist of the Year in Mississippi.

Dr. Michael Reed

Dr. Michael Reed graduated with honors from The University of Southern Mississippi in May of 2003. He received a B.S. degree in Microbiology, with a minor in Chemistry. In 2008, Dr. Reed graduated with the honor of “Cum Laude” from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree. In the summer of 2008, he and his family moved to Magee, MS to join the practice of his brother, Dr. Steven T. Reed. He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the Mississippi Optometric Association (MOA). He currently serves on the Visual Rehabilitation and Sports Vision committee, organized under the MOA. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association’s Sports Vision Section. He was a four-year member of Beta Sigma Kappa optometric honor fraternity while attending Southern College of Optometry and a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Med Honor Society at Southern Miss. Dr. Reed currently practices primary care optometry with a special emphasis on pediatrics, ocular disease, neuro-optometric rehabilitation and sport vision therapy. Dr. Reed enjoys spending time with his family and traveling. He also enjoys reading, playing the guitar, and football. He is married to Andrea, a photographer, and has two children, Lila and Vada.

Beverly Roberts, CPOT

Beverly became a member of the Family Vision Clinic team in September 2005. Since then, she has earned the degree of Certified Paraoptometric Technician (CPOT), the highest level possible in the American Optometric Association’s certification process. Currently she serves as Family Vision Clinic’s Lead Optician and is responsible for all activities associated with the optical lab. In addition, she serves as the Outreach Director coordinating Family Vision Clinic’s involvement in health fairs, school screenings and other community events. Beverly is Past President of the Mississippi Paraoptometric Association and currently serves on the education and conference planning committees. She is also involved on a national level serving as a current trustee with the American Optometric Association’s Paraoptometric section and as a member of the membership committee. In 2007, Beverly was awarded the Mississippi Optometric Association’s Para of the Year award. In 2008, she was honored on a national level as the American Optometric Association’s Paraoptometric of the Year, an award chosen from candidates in all 50 states. She is an active member of our community and attends Siloam Baptist Church with her family.
